There’s no place quite as much classic as Charoenkrung Cafe Bar. The building itself is over 200 years old and decorated in a retro style. Added to that are Sinatra’s songs and a delightful open-air seating area fully exposed to the hubbub of the old town. You can find coffees, beers, special cocktails, as well as Thai and Western cuisines on their menu; and this is a good spot for all-day brunch, too. The specialty of the house is the open-faced sandwich which they use only freshly baked baguette from the famous local bakeshop. If you order a few Thai dishes to eat with rice such as green curry, phanaeng, sweet and sour stir fries, grilled pork neck, etc., your food will be served in a traditional 3-or 4-stack lunch box just like in the old days. This old- school cafe and bar is located right at the Junction of Charoen Krung Road and Silom Road (Bang Rak). There isna limited capacity of seats and it is always packed with foreign tourists and locals.
