With the excellent selection of food, the experience would have been good except for the fact that the chef manning the seafood station is exceptionally rude, and there were many people standing in the middle of the walkways taking photographs blocking the way. Since there were already people at the buffet area at 5.55pm, I went to get my food as no one told us otherwise. But as soon as I took out a plate, the chef very very rudely told me they were still closed. Now, I can understand the buffet line being closed until 6pm, so that's my bad, but that does not give the chef any excuse or right to use that condescending, spiteful, rude tone of voice with me. He could have informed me in a nicer tone of voice (honestly even a monotone/ emotionless tone of voice would be nicer than the one he used), not one that is so mean and spiteful and downright disrespectful. I've been to food capitol a whole bunch of times, and this is the first time I've encountered this kind of negative experience. He ruined the entire night for me even before it began properly. Additionally, there were many people standing in the middle of the buffet line walkways/ right in front of the food taking videos and photographs. Wanting to document the food is fine, but not when the buffet line is crowded and there isn't much space to walk. Everyone is balancing their food and drinks. It's not only annoying to have to swerve around these people, who don't even care they are blocking the way, but it is also a danger hazard.
