Soi actually comes from a Thai word – "ซอย", a term used in Thailand for the word "street". 55 in Thai is pronounced as "Haa Haa", which is often a symbol of laughter amongst the Thai. Hence Soi 55 reflects an emphasis by the founders to bring genuine Thai food to Malaysians to enjoy with fun, laughter and happiness. Malaysia being neighbor to Thailand do share similar interest and taste buds when it comes to flavors, thus the journey of bringing Thailand to the neighborhood begins.
