"Founded by the two cricket legends Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakarra and the world’s famous chef Dharshan Munidasa, Ministry of Crab has been the no.1 restaurant in Sri Lanka since 2011 and has been very popular in Shanghai since 2018. And now they have just opened a new establishment in Sukhumvit 31 (Sam-ed retail commercial complex), so why don’t we all give it a try.
The restaurant is known to celebrate the finest catches (crabs, prawns, clams, oysters, and more) of the day by collaborating the freshness with a variety of herbs, spices, and flavors native to Sri Lanka. They also pay attention to every tiny detail such as serving only sashimi quality seafood and banning the freezer as it can destroy the natural flavor of seafood. Additionally, when it comes to crabs, they don’t serve them small, meatless, with one claw missing, or even with unevenly-sized claws. They care that much. Must-tries at the Ministry of Crab include clay pot prawn curry, oyster sixers, seer fish teriyaki, and crab liver pate. Chef Dharshan’s signature chicken curry rice with Sri Lankan’s pol sambol, one of the most popular non-seafood dishes here, is also worth ordering."
