A chain from Nagoya, with over 50 locations in Japan and several new branches in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Fujiyama 55 or Fujiyama GO GO is a traditional ramen shop where tsukemen or ‘dipping ramen’ is the star. For those who are new to Tsukemen, you just dip the noodles, which are served at room temperature, into an ultra hot broth provided in a separate bowl. Soak them for a second, if you like, and enjoy! So, apart from the special chewy and thick noodles that are made fresh every day, the highlights of Fujiyama’s tsukemen include the rich broth which is purposefully simmered for 48 hours for more intense flavors and stronger aroma. The restaurant’s menu also offers other kinds of ramen as well as the Japanese teppan cha-han (fried rice cooked and served on a hot plate) and a few appetizers. For the Phra Khanong branch, the restaurant is located near BTS Phra Khanong (Soi 69/1, next to Kasikorn Bank).
